Clear it out....

I took the JLPT Level 1 this time and I am ashamed to say that I am no where even close to passing. One might say 'What a shame' but I am not at all worried.

Leaving aside the outcome of JLPT test, there is something more interesting which I would like to share with you. I am pretty sure that most of you might chip in with a valuable comment or two .

Well, the story goes like this. The first part of the test was vocabulary test and everything went on very smoothly. There was a pin drop silence in the examination hall which had more than 100 examinees. No one talked, whispered ,sneezed, coughed,or cleared their throats.
The next exam was the listening exam and while we were all waiting for the invigilators to play the CD , I could hear more than 80 percent examinees struggling hard to clear their throats. The whole examination hall gave an impression of a back room of Indian Idol (Ok American Idol if you are against Indians choosing their Idols on that stupid concept) or a hospital ward created specially for pneumonia patients

For a moment I felt like JLPT authorities are running some kind of secret contest where they will ask us to sing a song in Japanese and the top 5 will be awarded with JLPT Level 1 pass certificates without having to take the rest of the test. It wouldn't have made any difference either because I can never win a contest like this.
Me and my friends have full faith in my fine arts abilities and I can't let anyone down.

Also,I had a thought that may be JLPT authorities have suddenly decided to switch the listening test for a reading test and they have notified everyone but I haven't got the information because I did not open my mail box for the last two weeks ( I am dreading those sleezy tissue paper packs and 1 million chirashi waiting for me in the mailbox.)

Well these were some the possible reasons my infertile brain could think of.
Can any one suggest me what could be the reasons for the sudden SARS outbreak in the examination hall only during the listening test.
