pring in Tokyo is welcomed by what is known as Hanami (Cherry Blossom viewing).
This is also a practice in many other countries too. Granted that the Japanese can`t claim it as solely their own way of welcoming spring. Yet there is the distinctive Japanese way of Cherry Blossom viewing. This was my 5th. Hanami in Tokyo and this time too I enjoyed it to the full.

Tokyo Morning

T
he best time of the day to see and understand Japan "The Land Of The Rising Sun" is in the early morning hours. I started of to Asakusa on one such morning accompanied with the new Camera which I mentioned in my previous blog.

Asakusa is the center of Tokyo`s shitamachi (downtown). It is one of Tokyo`s very few areas which have preserved the atmosphere of old Tokyo. The architecture of Asakusa reflects its rich past and how in spite of the turbulent war period It retained its dignity.

Selecting A Hobby

You may well ask why I chose Photography over the others such as Playing Golf, Music, Gardening, Collecting stamps etc. Well, I am not a particularly demanding person; so when it came to selection of a hobby I thought of taking up a hobby which will not tax me either physically or mentally so that I can follow this hobby as long as I wish without my body or mind asking me to stop.
