Geo Manage A Matter of Choice
Let me begin with the basics. My childhood was not a wealthy one but we were a contented family. My family was not rich but we did not see poverty either. My father even in trying circumstances was never unhappy or depressed. He was a person who always wanted to do business but just could not take the plunge. I feel he was too nice a person to do business. Also in spite of sincerity, hard work and honest work ethics he just could not become rich. I also found that he always had to accept any work that came his way. He had no choice.
Since, then I have always believed that you should do business to an extent where you are in a position of choice. What is this position of Choice? Well some may say that this is a relative term yet at the outset we can say that when you fulfill your basic needs you are in a position of choice.
So when I thought of getting into business, I always focused on how the business would pay for itself. It is like opening a shop. The shop should be capable of paying its water, electricity, rent, taxes etc. This is the foremost that anybody should remember when they prepare their business plans. You should not think of making millions in a short time but the shop should be self sufficient. This will give you a choice of what you want to sell and what you don`t want to sell from your shop.
I also said that I would do business adhering to the following -
I would work and work hard for money.
I will try not to loose money in business
I will make enough money to have a choice
If I employ people then I will try my level best to make them happy
I will give more than what my customers expect
I also added that I will not be greedy for the wrong things. However, according to me greed is necessary in any profession. In fact you should have greed for knowledge, love and also greed for good hard earned money. Because money is what will motivate you to newer heights of achievements. With this in mind I am always on the look out for opportunities to know people, to know the latest technology etc... I also believe in initiative and striking at the right moment.
When we started GeoManage, the logic was to start a company where everybody was first and foremost happy, well fed and self reliant. The idea was to have a company which would bridge the gap between the core industry and the emerging technologies.
We would also do marketing of products the conventional way and also use internet for publicity and sales. We are now also thinking of using the media (audio and video) to help our customers. We do not aim to become the biggest media company in the world but we would like to be in a position of choice where we would do what we like doing best.
